On 5 May 2012, the Warwickshire GAA Community turned up in great numbers to support the St Brendan's charity five-a-side tournament, with nine teams competing for the Eileen Dundas Memorial Trophy.

Eileen was a very much loved member of St Brendan's for over 25 years with all her family - Liam, Sean, Maria & Helen - all representing the Club at different levels since 1983.

St Brendan's 2 - John Mitchell's 0

The Semi Finals were very tight matches with St Brendan's & Mitchell's edging through to meet in the Final, beating Sean Mac Dermott's and Roger Casement's respectively.

The Final was an excellent match with both teams showing great skills in front of a large crowd. Louie Monaghan opened the scoring for St Brendan's with a rasping shot from over 20 yards into the top corner of the net. Then the same player scored the all important second goal just before half time, and St Brendan's were able to hold out to win the Final.

Best for the winners were Louie Monaghan, Mikey McAleer, Michael Smith and OJ Hough. Mitchell's had great performances from Patrick Smith, James Power and Ben Furey.

Overall the amount raised for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie was £3540.00.

The organising committee - Liam and Sean Dundas, Maria McDaid, Helen Keane, Anna McAleer, Mark McGlone, Carole Tolan - wish to pass on their sincere appreciation to everyone who helped on the day, and to our very kind sponsors and to all the local Warwickshire GAA Community who donated so generously to make it such a successful event.
